The Baikal Mountains are located in southern Siberia and are home to dense birch forests, Siberian firs and Scots pines. Madame de Nicolaï envisioned a trans-Siberian journey while creating Baikal Leather. Instead of traditional birch (used in the classic 'Cuir de Russie' perfumes), she chose smoked pine and guaiac wood. This powerful duo is revealed by an explosive opening of yuzu, pepper and saffron, while the aromatic facet of spearmint completes the top note. The pinkish-purple floral heart envelops the leather and is softened by a buttery base of iris, tonka beans and white musk.
