ROSE POETIQUE is a soulful -yet utterly euphoric- tribute to the Damask rose. Hailed by Greek poet Sappho as “the pride of plants, and queen of flowers”, the rose was cherished in ancient Greece for its beauty, aroma, as well as its cosmetic and medicinal properties, becoming a major source of artistic inspiration. Roses have been dear to Manos Gerakinis since childhood, when he started to draw them in his grandmother’s garden.
For ROSE POETIQUE, he chose to surround his floral star with two natural ingredients of timeless significance for Greeks: warm, beaming saffron and deep, balsamic labdanum. The olfactive experience of the full-bodied, intoxicating rose is enriched with tangy fruitiness, fluffy muskiness, soft leather nuances, and a pleasurable amber undercurrent. As a geographic bridge between East and West, Greece has always been a melting pot of cultures. Like an aromatic crossroad between different olfactory traditions, ROSE POETIQUE evokes that reality with a spirit of optimism, togetherness, and joie de vivre.
