RAER

Raer Scents is a modern natural perfume house made without compromise: unique handcrafted botanical scents that are made from the finest sustainable natural matières premières in the world. 

Their journey began in 2017, when Raer Scents' Founder, Ted Rohn, was looking for a perfume that was modern and special but also natural and sustainable. He could not find the perfect perfume, so he created it. Together with a friend, he developed the proof-of-concept versions of their first Raer perfumes.

“I started Raer because I love perfume. But in a world full of commercial synthetics, I couldn't find ‘The Perfect Scent’. I wanted a fragrance that was bold and unique, but also fairly traded, and made with natural ingredients. I couldn't find it, so I made my own.”

Since then, Raer's collection has continued to grow, all the perfumes being created with the same ideals. Inspired by the Bauhaus tradition and the energy of Berlin, they make modern linear scents from rare traditional plant ingredients­­­ — sustainably grown and ethically harvested of course. They value the process and the craft as much as they do the matières premières and the final product. They create their own formulas without compromising on integrity, cost or quality. They work directly with farmers and small producers to get the best natural ingredients in the world. They handcraft their perfumes themselves, using time-consuming ancient artisanal perfuming techniques. They handfill every bottle of Raer perfume at their Atelier in Berlin, across the river from Mies van der Rohe's Neue Nationalgalerie.

They chose to work directly with farmers and small producers around the world to source their ingredients, giving them time and resources to produce the best raw ingredients possible, while making sure they are paid fairly. Their business partner Cynthia Chua invested in a farm in the South of France, which has enabled them to work with farmers to plant their own organic ingredients. They also wild forage for some of their ingredients themselves.
