The conflict between the creator (Antonio) and Tuberose, disturbing and pleasant at the same time.
Maai means 'the perfect distance and time' between two opponents in the Japanse martial arts 'Kendo'. It's the moment each of them can strike and win, but they can also wait forever. It's a suspended moment, somewhere 'in between'. It's the 'engagement distance'.
MAAI is probably the most sophisticated Chypre. It's vintage glamour with an animalic edge.

Antonio Gardoni
Antonio Gardoni produces small batches of perfumes 2-3 times a year. Each batch results in roughly 250-300 bottles. Every batch is a limited edition due to the artisanal nature of their production.
The formula doesn't change, but the perfumes can smell different from batch to batch. MAAI contains almost 80% of natural organic materials sourced from a large number of independent producers around the world. The same product can change quite drastically due to weather and seasonal conditions, climate change, pollution and so on. These variations affect the final result and inevitably modify the perfume smell profile.
